Canberra is the capital of Australia and also its political center. Canberra has a population of approximately 332,000 people and is, hence, the largest inland city of Australia. The city is situated at the northernmost extreme of the region at a distance of 280 kilometers on the southwestern part of Sydney and at a distance of 650 kilometers on the north-eastern part of Melbourne.

As of 1908, the location of Canberra was earmarked as the capital of the nation, apart from Sydney and Melbourne, which are the two of the largest cities of Australia. Australia in general, and Canberra in particular is well known for its scenic beauty and wonderful climate.
